Prayer requests from Bill (Bishop for North Africa Area) and Hilary Musk 20 October

Prayers please for Algiers, Algeria, for progress in finding a suitable chaplain for the church, with giving support in the meantime to the (mostly student) congregation there.

Prayers please for Tripoli, Libya. We are gradually moving forward a process of appointment of a third ordained person to the chaplaincy team at Christ the King, Tripoli. The dynamic and growing church in Tripoli needs a strengthened team, in order for various potential streams of growth of ministry to come to fulfilment.

Prayers please for Tunis, Tunisia, where Sunday saw us yet again with standing room only at our second Sunday service and scratching our heads as to how we are going to accommodate all our Sunday School and youth classes now that the summer has passed and we can no longer sit groups outside in the shade.

Thank you!

Bill & Hilary

Topics for Prayer from Cairo from Geoffery & Daphne

Individual Prayers

For Phyllis Heartfield who is very unwell and who has had radio therapy.

Ramez Atallah requests prayers for friends of his sister in Indiana, Irma and Ken Flora. They have just lost their daughter and 2, small grandchildren in a fire!  (They also have a son, who has 2 children.)  The only survivor was the husband of the daughter, Brian.  They are all believers; please pray for God's deep and supernatural comfort.  How else could one survive such a tragedy?

For Magdy who looks after and tends the cemetery in Old Cairo who has a growth in his back and is thus partly disabled and his deaf grandson (12) , who helps him in his work.

For Mike Potters continued recovery and adaptation to living after his car accident. He has a specially adapted car, which has made a huge difference.   He can get his wheelchair in and out of the car himself, so can get around independently, even taking the children out alone.  He walks  with the aid of  a frame and calipers, and has determination and a positive attitude.

For Billy Thornton's (15) continued recovery from a chairi (Key-R-E ) operation and non recurrance of symptons in later life.

PRAYER FOR EGYPT

May our Compassionate and Eternal God bless Egypt, guard it against all evil, guide it in wisdom.

May He bless all who build for its future and keep them faithful and safe in their work.

May President Murbarak and the peoples of Egypt be united and God-fearing, happy, peaceful and prosperous, preserving the good heritage of the past, and building for the nation’s future on foundations of righteousness and love.

May the Episcopal Cathedral Church of All Saints’ Cairo continue to be a place of prayer for all nations and a place of peace for all peoples.

We ask this in the name of our God and Father through Jesus Christ our Lord for ever and ever. Amen

A PRAYER FOR CAIRO

May the eternal God bless this city, guard it against all evil, guide it in wisdom.

May he bless all who build the Bridge, and keep them faithful and safe in their work.

May the peoples of this city be united and godfearing, happy and prosperous, preserving the good heritage of the past, and building the future on foundations of righteousness and love. And all glory be to the Eternal God, the Lord of the Worlds, the Compassionate and Merciful, the Ruler in History, and the lover of men, the God and Father of Jesus Christ, for ever and ever. Amen
